During a year at STEP, students are supported in a variety of ways. STEP faculty, staff, cooperating teachers, and supervisors work cooperatively to support and facilitate a student’s professional growth while at STEP. But, that support doesn’t end after graduation. Networks of professional development opportunities and support for recent graduates are constantly being enhanced so that graduates have an additional resource to call upon in their first years of teaching. 91% of students surveyed in recent years have kept in contact with their fellow cohort members, building on the professional community that is emphasized at STEP.
